Sportsmans' Dinner

On Saturday 19th May 2006, at Heywood Civic Hall the club held one of its biggest and BEST fundraising events of the year..

Neil 'Razor' Ruddock was the guest speaker, and he shared his football, life & "I'm a celebrity, get me out of here" experiences with the local people...

All of the photographs taken on the night are below.

'Razor', along with comedian Shaun Stiles entertained the room of almost 300 people, and the pair absolutely brought the house down with some of the funniest stories ever heard, as the beer flowed and the food was eaten into the small hours.

On the evening, memorabilia such as signed Pele, Diego Maradona, and England world cup squad shirts, plus signed boxing gloves from the Eubank/Benn fights, along with numerous Manchester United and other local clubs signed photos raised a substantial amount of money as guests bid for the rare pieces.

The club has already started to plan for a similar -but bigger event  - at a similar time next year.

Watch this page for details.

Christmas Parties

Christmas parties for all of our 11 teams have now taken place, and both events have been a resounding success, with players and families thoroughly entering into the festive spirit, and having a great time.

Under 8's - Under 11's

This year's Xmas party for all of the players and families from the under 8's through to the under 11's was held on Sunday 11th December at the Heywood pub (formerly Seven Stars).

There was food, games and presents for all of the players..

This has been an annual event for the past few years and as always everyone had a great time.

(Including adults. It's amazing that the bar didn't run dry !!!)

Under 12's - Under 18's

The Xmas celebration for the older lads was on Thursday 15th December at Megabowl Pilsworth. The evening started at 6.15pm, and finished at approximately 9.00, with the lads treated to games of ten pin bowling followed by food.

Once again, this has been an annual event, and was totally enjoyed by both players, families and parents (who again, could be found in the bar !!)

Bonfire Night

The Annual Roach Dynamos bonfire & fireworks display took place on Saturday 5th November and was enjoyed by dozens of kids and adults alike.

Held at Heywood St James' the evening also consisted of hot food and a licensed bar.

Despite the rain, the bonfire kept everyone warm, and the firework display was spectacular, the best so far.

We would like to thank everyone who helped make the evening a success.

Football Tournament

The Annual Football Tournament took place & was a resounding success.

The Football Club held its annual soccer tournament at heywood Community school in August.

The event ran over 2 days and there were 44 teams from all around the North West that participated.
On Saturday, it was 7-a side with teams from next years under 8's, 9's and 10's playing for the prizes, and on Sunday the under 11's, 12's and 13's battled it out for honours in the full 11 a side matches.

The event was supported by hot and cold food and drinks with bouncy castles and fun events for the kids including face painting and stalls selling football boots and trainers.

The host club performed well, winning 3 out of the 6 age groups (8's, 9's and 13's) while the other winners were Seedfield (10's) Moston Juniors (11's) & Chaddy End (12's), and the quality of football overall was excellent.

PR officer Phil Rostron said that the event was an overwhelming success, with the weather being good to us and and with everyone having a great time.
He added that he would like to thank all of the managers, volunteers, referees, sponsors, the school and St Johns ambulance, that supported him and the club to ensure that the weekend went smoothly and successfully.
