Under 9s Orange – Match Report 6/3

Roach travelled to Chadderton Park for the quarter final game in the main cup and Roach started the game the brightest and soon began to take charge of the game in midfield with Harry Roche,Tom Rooney and Connor Sugden working hard and playing some good football to create some good half chances. The visitors looked like they wanted to win the game more than Chaddy, every ball was won and defence was soon turned into attack and only five minutes into the game Rooney found Sugden who laid the ball into Harry Roche who smashed it into the top corner to put the visitors 1 up. Roach grew in confidence from this and chances went begging from Sugden and Rooney,Roach continued to press and when Chaddy managed to win the ball back the Roach defenders Mitchell Clarke and Lee Bagshaw soon snubbed out any chance of the home team getting a look at the goal leaving keeper Niall Barnes very little to do,Roach’s passing and movement was at time to much for Chaddy and the home keeper was called to make save after save but the break through came again when Roche played a fine ball into inform striker Daniel Wright who ran onto goal and slot the ball past the keeper  to double there lead, Roach where now taking control of the game and chances were coming thick and fast and from a corner Sugden crossed and Wright side footed his second and Roaches third just before half time.

The second half was more of the same and Roach began where they left with Harison Kilroy and Curtis Rowland coming close to scoring Chaddy started to create some half chances but the full Roach team defended as a unit and the ball was soon won back, the ball was played into Rowland who then played the ball forward and Kilroy was determined to chase the ball down and his effort paid off with a fine cross into the box to Wright who finish to take his hat trick and put Roach 4 up with only min’s to go man off the match went could off gone to all the team but Sugden, Roche, Clarke and Wright could not be split and all shared the award.
