Under 9s Orange – Match Report 6/2

Roach played there first game since early December with a cup match against local rivals Pennine juniors, Roach started the brightest with Harry Roche,Sam Mather and Connor Sugden combining well to create some early half chances,Roach started to dominate and grew in confidence and passed the ball around the pitch,Mather on the right found time and space to cross for Wright who slotted the ball wide,Pennine dug deep and soaked up the pressure and hit Roach on the break but defenders Mitchell Clarke and Lee Bagshaw work hard and won every 50/50 ball and played the ball from the back toRoche who slotted the ball through to Wright who was brought down to get a free kick,Wright steeped to hit the ball wide,from the goal kick Pennine hit a long ball over the top and behind the Roach defender to find themselves one on one with the Roach keeper Niall Barnes who came running out and claimed the ball,from his throw Roche found Daniel Wright clean through on goal and slotted the ball home to give Roach the lead,Roach continued to press on and from a excellent move Wright was brought down and Harry Roche stepped up to take the free kick and curled the ball into the top corner to make it 2-0 fat half time.

the second half Roach made some changes in midfield and defence this gave the home team a new release with Tom Rooney and Curtis Rowland working very hard and winning everything that came there way,again Roach dominate the game and some chances went begging from mather and rooney,Pennine never let there head drop and created a good chance but a fine save in the top corner from barnes kept the visitors out,Roach broke from the back with Mather,Sugdon and Rooney combining well to find Harision kilroy through on goal and place the ball into the back of the net to make it 3-0 with ten min’s left,Pennine managed to break through what was a solid Roach defence and from a scramble outside the back Pennine smashed the ball low and hard into the bottom corner to make it 3-1.man of the match went to defender Mitchell Clarke for a solid game and his all round game was excellent.
