Open Age Match Report – 31/10

The open age 2nd team registered their first win of the season on Saturday, and they did it in style, thumping top of the league Old Boltonians 4-1 at home. The win has been coming for the last 4 matches, with Roach playing some good football, but only managing draws, but today it all fell into place right from the kick off. The home side were the best side all day, and on 25 minutes, Aaron Boyle got in the box from midfield and opened the scoring. Six minutes later Ross Jones made it 2-0 and four minutes later a long kick from the keeper saw Jones gamble and roll the ball past the keeper to make it three. Confidence was flowing throughout the team now, and as the second half kicked off, another great Roach move saw player of the match find space yet again, and the rapid striker secured his hat trick. Bolton did get a goal back, but Roach were disciplined all over the park, and never looked like conceding again.  It was a great performance and a more than well deserved three points.
