The Open age second team travelled to high flying Howe Bridge on Saturday, and for 40 minutes of the first half, looked the better side, creating the lion’s share of the chances. The under 18’s went made hard work of Sunday’s Lancashire County Cup, but progressed into the last 16 nevertheless. Roach Under 7s Blacks were away to Little Lever who were previously unbeaten. Having won 4 in a row, confidence was very high in the squad. With Curtis Newsham unavailable, Ciaran Sherry stepped into Midfield. Roach started the match and within minutes found themselves 2 goals down. Roach Dynamos Under7s Blacks played hosts to Bury Amateurs looking to make it 4 wins on the bounce. Roach started the game well, with good work from Curtis Newsham, and Josh Brooks gave Kieran McIlvenny a clean strike at goal, which he took advantage of and made it 1-0 to Roach. Roach under nine travelled to Bolton ISC with 2 players missing but were still full off confidence. The game started with the home team pressuring and soon dominating the play and defenders Lee Bagshaw and Curtis Rowlands having to be on the top of there game to keep the home team at bay.
