The Open Age Second team travelled to the valleys of Rossendale on Saturday, and in a superb game of football, were unlucky to come away with just one point following a 1-1 draw. Under 7s Black Match Report – 26/09/09

Roach Dynamos Under 7s Blacks looked to build on last weeks emphatic 3-0 demolition of Radcliffe Borough as they took on the unbeaten Elton & Walshaw Alleycats.  Roach started well and dominated the early proceedings with Ciaran Sherry linking well with Curtis Newsham to fire wide of the target.  Roach played some good football and were once again unlucky when Kieran McIlvenny fired wide of the target when played through by Sherry.

Under 18s Match Report – 26/09/09

The under 18’s booked their ticket for the next round of the Lancashire County Cup with a hard earned win away at Farnworth. Due to injuries, Roach had just eleven players, but the lads did the club proud, working hard and playing good football for the whole 90 minutes. Under 9s Orange Match Report – 26/09/09

Roach under 9s travelled to rivals Bridge colts looking for back to back wins. The game started with Bridge starting the stronger team and within minutes keeper Niall Barnes excellent save stopped the home team taking the lead. Roach soaked up the pressure with on form defenders Clarke and Bagshaw letting very little past them. Roach’s confidence seemed to grow and midfielders Curtis Rowlands, Sam Mather, Conner Sugden and Harry Roche worked hard to win everything and found Daniel Wright wide on the right [...more]

Under 18s Match Report – 23/09/09

The under 18’s were honoured to be asked to play F.C. United in a friendly game last Wednesday, and under the bright floodlights of Manchester, Heywood was well and truly represented as Roach showed what a good footballing side they are. United took the lead with a great header from a corner on 25 minutes, but player of the match Jamie Diamond flicked the ball up and volleyed an unbelievable shot over the keeper to level the match. Under 12s Match Report - 19/09/09

Roach Under 12s entertained Bury North End Tigers at home. Roach started slowly conceding a penalty in the first five minutes, going 1-0 behind, which seemed to kick start Roach into playing some fine football. Tom Smeaton scored the equalizer after some good attacking pressure. Under 7s Black Match Report – 19/09/09

Roach Under 7 Blacks looked to put last weeks defeat to Bridge behind them as they faced Radcliffe Borough.  With regular keeper Josh Brooks injured, Max Murray deputised and was rarely called into action in the first half as Roach dominated their opponents.  An early shot from Kieran McIlvenny was a warning signal for the hosts and good pressure from Roach was rewarded when the lively Curtis Newsham evaded several challenges before firing Roach 1-0 ahead.  Good work [...more]

Under 9s Orange Match Report – 19/09/09

Roach under 9’s Orange played there first home game of the season against Chaddy Boys red. From the first whistle Roaches midfield of Curtis Rowland, Harry Roche and Connor Sugden pressed and chased everything. The under 18’s travelled to Great Lever on Sunday, and made hard work of what should have been a comfortable three pointer. Roach were awarded a penalty after just twelve minutes which Danny Wolstenholme converted superbly, but the home side equalised four minutes later. Roach dynamos under 10s followed up there impressive opening day victory at Middleton Lads last week with another superb display of strength and passing in a cracker of a match against Westbury Wanderers.
